Introduction

Everyone within the Unstable Games community is only talking about one thing at the moment; Here to slay DUNGEONS. This cooperative dungeon-crawl board game has caught the attention of thousands. The campaign raised over $1 million dollars within three hours, a record not seen by the Unstable Games company before.

As a fan of all of their games - I was specifically interested in this one for a fan-made project... with a concept of wild vs. tame magic. In this case, the abandoned arcane chemical laboratory (tame magic) and mysterious, fungal-infested mycelium network caves (wild magic) serve as the contrasting dungeons. To fit this theme, I'll be introducing two new characters to the Here to Slay DUNGEONS world: an artificer named Gizmo, and a shaman named Marsh.

Gizmo is a racoon, naturally drawn toward random nick-nacks and doohickies (er... well, trash). She likes to invent little "trash trinkets" - robots that will assist her in battle. Powered by a small arcane crystal at its core - the trinkets can walk... but that's about it! They're pretty harmless otherwise. Made from scraps, they aren't very durable. Gizmo's trash trinkets will add a new, strategy-based component to your game: scrap surge (+8 roll) to create a trash trinket minion. These robots cannot move, nor deal damage, but enemies will consider them a target. If you're lucky - the trinkets will take a blow for you! Though, the trinket only has 1HP. And you can only have 1 on the board/in the dungeon at a time. Gizmo's gadgets might not be very durable or intricate... but she's doing her best!

Marsh is an axolotl! He is rather tanky, but not very fast! He can boost party member's attacks in a certain radius around various totems he places down. These totems have a range of 1 hex tile, and can share a tile with a meeple. Although, the totem cannot move! Once it's placed, it's there. The totem's effect will last 1 round. (If Marsh places a totem on his turn, it lasts until his next, where he could refresh the totem). Marsh has options, though! He has three totems to summon: a strength boost, an evasion boost, or a resistance boost. Strength temporarily boosts damage dealt, evasion boosts how many tiles one can move if they started their turn on the totem hex tile, and resistance temporarily reduces incoming damage OR increases HP by 1 (subject to change). Marsh can only have one totem in play at a time, though, so he has to pick wisely which one to use!
